Dear Parents & Carers

We are experiencing a concerning amount of incidents regarding travel to and from school, with students lack of awareness around the roads and railway station.

Please can I ask for your support on this and to remind your son/daughter how important it is to be careful when :–

  • Crossing the roads
  • Cycling, especially in the darker evenings
  • On the station platforms

There was a very serious incident at the station last week and British Transport Police are involved, helping us to resolve some of the concerns on the platforms.

We have had Road Safety workshops, with all year groups, this term and this week we will have Rail Safety, led by experts from Network Rail.  We need the students to take notice of the clear messages, to be safe and careful at all times.

Can I also remind parents to drive more carefully in and around the Leisure Centre car park and on the roads up to and from the school.  We have received several reported cases of dangerous driving in the last two weeks.

We all need to be more vigilant and I ask for your support on this.

With thanks

Yvonne Watkins

Bourne Community College has had some brand-new diverse art graphics installed across the school, linking to different curriculum areas. - all of which have been welcomed by staff and students alike.
We were immensely proud to hold a celebration for our 2020 Cohort of students who left us during the height of the pandemic in March 2020. We were delighted to see them at the Langstone Harbour Hotel. It was a wonderful evening and a delight to catch up with the students.
