Dear Parents & Carers

We are pleased that the second full week of term has gone smoothly and that so many students have adapted so swiftly to being back in school.

With only nine more school days until the Easter holiday- we finish at 2.30 on Thursday 1 April – we are mindful of all students getting back into those learning routines and coping with the early starts again. Overall, they have settled well into their learning, are keeping to the one-way system and staying in their Year BUBBLES for all break and lunchtimes, which is just great to see. We are very impressed with them so far.

A few updates for this week:

Testing – all students should now have their Home Testing Kits so please make sure your child is tested twice per week. A video is on the website to help students with this (Go to:- About Us / Covid & Remote Learning / NHS Covid-19 Self-Test Guidance Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9XR8RZxKNo

HPV Vaccinations for Years 8, 9 and 10 will take place next week. A separate note has been sent to remind those children involved.

Year 11 – are working well in class and are focused on the next few weeks of their studies. They should be proud of all they have achieved and we are collating all the evidence to ensure they get the best grades they can. This is very much an opportunity for them to put in as much effort as possible to secure the very top of their forecasts.

Bikes – Many students are cycling to school which is great to see. Please remind them to wear a helmet, travel safely and bring a lock to secure their bike

Scooters – a reminder that scooters are illegal on all roads and pavements. Although the law has changed regarding hired electric scooters, privately owned scooters are currently not road legal and we cannot allow students to ride them to school. Please remind your son/daughter of this.

After school – Please do also remind your children that after school they must go home safely, not congregate in groups, and remember the rules on social distancing, as we are still in Lockdown.

Thank you for all your support to date and wishing you all a restful weekend.

Kind regards
