Exam
Invigilators
Bourne Community
College is now recruiting to its pool of casually employed GCSE
exam invigilators that we can call on during the months of May and
June and at other key times to supervise examinations over the
2009/10 exam year.
After
training, invigilators will be expected to provide exam supervision
according to national exam board regulations, including:
• Setting out papers in the exam room before the start of each
exam
• Supervising students entry to the exam room, ensuring they are
seated in their allocated location
• Starting and finishing the exam
• Supervising students sitting the exam, ensuring exam conditions
are maintained
• Collecting and returning papers to the exams office and clearing
the exam room
Exam
cover will be arranged from our pool of available invigilators for
each timetabled exam, which last between 30 minutes and 3 hours.
Applicants should be available during the main exam period in
May/June when invigilators could invigilate around 15-20 hours per
week (2-3 exams per day). At other times invigilation will be on an
‘as required’ basis throughout the year, with key times being
November, January and March for 1 or 2 days on each occasion. It is
unlikely that invigilators will be asked to invigilate more than 20
days over the 2009/10 academic year.
Attributes for the ideal
candidate would be the ability to be assertive when giving out
clear instructions, and calmness under pressure.
These
posts are paid on an hourly basis at £7.56 - £7.93 per hour (Grade
3), depending on experience. Applicants will need to be CRB
(Criminal Records Bureau) checked, which will be undertaken by
Bourne Community College.
