Dear Parents,

As a school we pride ourselves on offering opportunities to inspire our students and to broaden their horizons both educationally and personally. We are delighted to be offering your child the chance to be part of an amazing school trip to Ghana,Kenya or Zanzibar in Africa, where they will be able to volunteer in the local community and work in local schools .

Hence we are delighted to offer a trip with African Adventures, the UK’s leading Volunteer Travel Company, who specialise in offering life changing trips for students to Africa. African Adventures is the UK’s leading volunteer travel organisation specialising in educational trips. They give young people in the UK the opportunity to experience a new culture whilst dedicating their time to truly worthwhile causes. African Adventures’ partner schools in Ghana, Kenya or Zanzibar provide an education for children from underprivileged backgrounds and your child will support these schools by coaching sport, engaging in community work, and providing teaching assistance. No matter what your child’s skills or interests, they will be able to make a difference.
Two other local schools and colleges have also used this company in the past and have been very impressed by their organisation and experience. The trip will also form part of our Rights Respecting Initiative.

We are proposing a trip in February 2017 working in local African schools for a week and then spending a weekend visiting a part of the country.

We have three possibilities, to visit either Ghana (in the Volta Region on the south east coast), Kenya (in Nakuru County) or Zanzibar (Stone town).

In the region of £1800 plus medical costs. We intend to support the students in fundraising for this and consider this to be an important part of the whole experience.

We are sending this letter out today for you to register your interest after looking at the following links for more information.
