May 2016
Dear Parents/Carers
Study leave for Year 11 students – Summer 2016
I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for GCSE exam study leave this year, knowing that this will allow you to plan your support for your child at this critical time.
Although there are some exams prior to the half term break, students will attend all normal lessons until Friday 20th May, only being released from lessons in order to sit their examinations. From Monday 23rd May Year 11 students will only be expected in school to sit their examinations and are free to study at home at all other times.
Students who, for whatever reason, wish to complete their examination preparation in school after 20th May, will need to sign in and out at Main Reception and work in the library. This will allow us to keep a correct record of who is on site in the event of an emergency.
All students are required to wear their full school uniform when on site, whether completing revision or sitting their examinations. Summer uniform, with light blue polo shirts in place of school shirts, is allowed after the half term break.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and to wish all of our Year 11 students the very best for their final examinations. I am confident that their hard work will bring them fair rewards.
Yours faithfully
Simon Liley
