Dear Parents / Carers
Re: Student Trip to Lille – 11 December 2015
As I am sure you are aware there was a series of terrorist attacks in Paris recently and many of you have expressed your concerns regarding the safety of the students during the upcoming trip to Lille.
The safety of our students and staff is our prime concern and we have taken advice from the Foreign Office. The latest update: Summary – the Foreign and Commonwealth Office recommends that British schools planning to take groups to France between now and 6 December follow the updated French Ministry of Education’s advice not to travel to the Ile-de-France region (including the metropolitan area of Paris); the French Ministry of Education has stated that journeys travelling through the Ile-de-France region but not stopping are permitted, and that trips to the rest of France are now allowed.
We have also taken advice from West Sussex County Council, who have confirmed that there are not restrictions in place which affect our particular trip, therefore our trip can go ahead as planned. We will, of course, ensure that your child’s safety remains our primary concern throughout the trip.
If you have any specific concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
