Dear Parents and Carers

Together with the Student body we have been consulting on improving our school uniform and sports kit.

After a unanimous vote, the students have voted to –

  1.  Change our skirt from navy blue to tartan
  2.  Keep the ties as they are
  3.  Opt for a V-neck or round neck jumper with the Bourne logo on it

Therefore from September 2017, the new tartan skirt will be introduced.

New Yr 7 Sept 2017 Tartan skirt
Current Yr 7 and 8 May continue to wear navy blue skirt until outgrown – then tartan skirt
Current Yr 9 Tartan skirt from September 2017 – Yr 10 girls currently have a new skirt for Yrs 10 & 11
Current Yr 10 & 11 May continue to wear navy blue skirt until outgrown – then tartan skirt

As for the sports kit, students have asked to change this also and it will mandatory for all Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students from September 2017. Only Year 11 students may wear their present kit until it no longer fits and then the new sports kit must be worn.

The new sports kit will be available from Skoolkit in Havant and Game, Set & Match in Chichester, as they have the Bourne logo on them. (Full PE kit list attached)

I would like to emphasise that this change has been driven by the students as they are keen to improve their school image and dress.

I would also like to remind you that extremes of hair colour and styles are not permitted – Grade 2 haircut is the minimum.

I would like to thank you for your continued support with our school uniform and your help in maintaining the high standards that are set for all aspects of the school.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Yvonne Watkins
Headteacher
