STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP OF ICT


STRATEGIC
Develop and communicate a shared vision for ICT
Plan a sustainable ICT strategy across the whole College including:
        - Managing, co-ordinating, monitoring and reviewing the implementation
        - Promoting the use of ICT by improving organisational effectiveness and efficiency


TACTICAL
Undertake an ICT team job specification review before Easter 07, including time and motion study of the roles required and time allocation for each.


OPERATIONAL
- Staff confident with use of ICT and able to produce resources
- Staff able to access SIMS from a PC in every classroom, and using ICT on a daily basis
- Data collection and profiling completed electronically
- E-mail communications regularly used by staff and students
- Creation of a Learning Platform – Managed Learning Environment (MLE):
            - All schemes of work and learning resources from all departments accessible to student, staff and parents from College and home at all times. Move away from shared documents to access through the MLE.
- Students able to log-on from home and access their College work
- A  photograph of every student to be on SIMS
- A  dynamic and regularly visited website used by staff and students as a current information resource, updated weekly (with sections in MFL where appropriate)
- Develop an ICT system to track behaviour and to monitor student success
- Wireless access in a main hall for use of data on Parents Evenings
- Video-conferencing to be developed to enhance transition and MFL links
- Each classroom to have a digital projector installed
- A  cross-curricular ICT handbook for staff created with key information for delivery of cross-     curricular ICT
- Maintain a cross-curricular map of the ICT key concepts currently delivered in Departments.
- Maintain cross-curricular work sample for evidence


- Implement E Learning software across departments which have been assessed against an agreed criteria of value for money.
- Evaluate electronic registration with possible biometric data entry.
- All staff to have a strategically placed machine to access VLE and MIS
- Increase network speed by 30%
- Implement a structured staff training program.
- Combine all access to resources through a single desktop page
- Create new computer room in M6
