Education
As part of each student's programme,
we undertake a course of personal social and health education which
aims to help our students to understand the issues and situations
they may encounter in their early teenage years. The key idea is to
build self-confidence and develop communication skills. Students
will learn to understand their emotions as well as how to maintain
good relationships with friends and family. An essential part of
the programme is developing the skills of enquiry and communication
and the skills of participation and responsible
action.
The course at KS3 is undertaken as a
descrete subject. This enables the teacher to get to know the
students better and the students to get to know and respect one
another. Learning takes place through active involvement in
role-play and discussions and, although there is no formal
examination, the progress made by each student forms an important
part of the profile which is built up as a record of the student's
school career.

How will my learning be
assessed?
Your learning will be assessed
through your contributions to classwork; some unit tests and
through your general level of maturity in conversation, discussion
and behaviour. There are no formal examinations in these subjects
but they are all really important to your growth as a young
adult.
