10 January 2017
Dear Parents and Carers
We would like to invite you to a FREE Internet Safety talk being held at Chichester High School and The Regis School. Both sessions cover the same topics regarding Internet Safety, so you only need to turn up to one!
* 6:30PM on Tuesday 7 February 2017 at Chichester High School OR
* 6:30PM on Wednesday 8 February 2017 at The Regis School.
Each year, Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world by thousands of schools, charities and other organizations. Internet safety is an important part of education and is something we take very seriously in our curriculum, but we also use Safer Internet Day to take part in themed activities. The theme for this year is:
Be the change: Unite for a better internet!
Our school is a part of a group of West Sussex Primary and Secondary schools who have come together to organize a series of events during the second week of February to celebrate the many positives of the internet, and to raise awareness of the issues that children and young people face online today. They will be taking part in a range of activities, including a competition which will be judged during the day of 7 February 2017.
For the whole week, the schools have invited a nationally-renowned speaker to take part in a number of these activities including the parent talks. Alan Mackenzie (www.esafety-adviser.com) will raise the awareness of a range of issues that affect children and young people along with clear, practical advice to help parents in this difficult area.
We really hope you’ll be able to come and join us, and play your part for a better internet.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Y Watkins
