College Admissions
The Local
Authority deals with admissions for all county and controlled
schools. If you need more information, please contact theAdmissions
Office on 01903 839141.
If the number of applications for Bourne Community College is
within the admission limit (150), places can normally be offered to
all who apply. Where there are more applications than the admission
limit, places are normally allocated in order of priority as
follows:
a. Children who
live in the designated area of the College
b. Children who
live outside the designated area in the following order:
i. Those with brothers
or sisters already at the College who will still be there when the
child starts
ii. Those who need a
place at the College on exceptional medical or social grounds
(please note that parents must provide a letter from a qualified
person, usually a doctor or social worker, stating clearly why it
is considered essential that the child, attends that particular
College - so that a decision may be taken by the Area Education
Officer)
iii. Those who live
nearest to the College (measured by a straight line from the
College to home).
In the event of a
place not being offered, parents may appeal and details of this
procedure may be obtained from the Headteacher or from the
Admissions Office on 01903 839141.
